my birds will not eat this latest batch, as though there is a chemical smell on it

Ì know it's expensive but I get a lot and my birds LOVE it. Bought others but seems very brown & small millet on sprays. They will eat but not quickly. This brand is pure CANDY & they love the protein & big millet not looking burnt.

I'm very impressed with this product. The sprays are very, very large--I've never seen such large millet sprays. And I like that the stems are still attached.I cut the stems off and keep them as a chew toy for my cockatiel. She enjoys them, esp. when I hold them for her, it's one way we can interact together and she still gets her chewing in.Because the sprays are so large, a single spray will last my single cockatiel several days. I simply rotate them for her.They smell nice and fresh. I empty the entire shipping box when it arrives and didn't see any mold, or insects. Upon arrival seeds were pouring out of the box. Shipping took forever. When i opened box it was dry and brittle some had almost no seed on them. Birds reluctant to eat them. Not getting this from this dealer again.

Many reviewers have knocked this product, and I don't doubt that there are customers out there who've received, for example, molded millet, but this has never been my experience. On the contrary, the millet I've received through this company has always been exceptionally beautiful, fat, and golden, and my birds LOVE it! Disappointing, to say the least. The first included photo shows millet spray from another Amazon seller on the left and Golden Farms' millet spray on the right. Right away you can see that the Golden Farms millet is thinner, and shows a LOT of damage from mishandling. The color seems a little washed out on the Golden Farms millet as well. Both sprays are shown on 6 inch black and white tile.My second photo shows the millet that has fallen off the sprays at the bottom of the box. It fills a 7-cup plastic bowl and weighs just short of a pound. That's very nearly 20% of what I purchased. I can usually tell to a certain degree how fresh the spray millet is since I order it on a regular basis. This box arrived fresh and my Finches loved every bite. It's a little overpriced however since I can get the same box down the street if I want to walk down to the pet store for $20 but I purchased it online for convenience as I often do from a more notable retailer, Lady Gouldian (.com). If you don't want to pay the price that the larger online pet stores will charge then this is an okay option but I wouldn't trust it on a regular basis.It can be hard to tell with spray millet because it comes DRIED already but the real test is whether or not your pickiest birds will eat the seed.
